Costs of Marriage and Registered Partnership

The costs are divided into categories. The categories that are always charged are:

  • Wedding Ceremony (location)*
  • Marriage Officiant*
  • Other costs, such as the fee for a marriage or civil partnership certificate, if you choose to obtain one
  • Other costs, such as getting married abroad or converting a registered partnership into a marriage

* The associated costs depend on your choice of wedding venue, wedding date, and officiant.

Below is a breakdown of the costs by category. 

Wedding Ceremony (Venue)

Monday through Saturday

  • Processing applications and performing marriages, registered partnerships, or ceremonial conversions of partnerships Monday through Saturday at the Locations: Zevenbergen / Klundert / Willemstad / Unique Home: € 341,00
  • An alternative location: € 549,95
  • On Mondays at scheduled times at the Zevenbergen location: free registration
  • On Wednesdays at scheduled times at the Zevenbergen location (simple execution): € 208,10

Sundays and Holidays

2. Marriage Officiant

For the services ofa municipal Special Civil Registrar (BABS)in performing a marriage or registered partnership, or a ceremonial conversion of a partnership

  • Monday through Saturday: € 364,40
  • Sundays and Holidays € 546,70

Forthe one-time appointmentof a Special Civil Registrar for one day

  • if the person to be appointed as a civil registrar (Babs) holds a valid appointment as a civil registrar (ABS) or Babs € 151,25
  • if the person to be appointed as a Babs does not have a valid appointment as a civil registrar (ABS) or Babs and has yet to be sworn in € 461,40

3. Other Costs

Marriage/Partnership Certificate (not required) 

  • Standard version: € 22,55
  • Deluxe version: € 33,60

Other

  • Getting Married Abroad: A Certificate of Eligibility to Marry € 31,10
  • Processing an application to convert a registered partnership into a marriage without a ceremony costs € 89,85
    • On Mondays at scheduled times at the Zevenbergen location (free of charge)
    • On Wednesdays at scheduled times at the Zevenbergen location (simple execution) €208.10
  • Free conversion is available only to residents of the municipality of Moerdijk on Monday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. 
  • In the event of the cancellation of a marriage, a registered partnership, or the conversion of a registered partnership into a marriage, the applicant is entitled to a refund of 50% of the fees collected.

The following are considered holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, King’s Day, Liberation Day, Ascension Day, the First and Second Days of Pentecost, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and any other generally recognized holidays designated as such by public notice, with the exception of the Friday following Ascension Day.
