Housing Permit

The municipality of Moerdijk has a housing ordinance. Under this ordinance, housing applicants with a social connection to the municipality may be given priority for social housing. A housing applicant is considered to have a social connection if he has lived in the municipality of Moerdijk for the past six years or for six consecutive years within the past ten years.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for a housing permit, one of the following situations must apply to you:

  • You have lived in the municipality of Moerdijk for the past six years, or
  • Over the past ten years, you have lived in the municipality of Moerdijk for six consecutive years

To be eligible for public housing, you must belong to the housing corporations’ target group. You can find more information about this on the Dutch government’s website.

Apply for Housing
  • If you meet the requirements, you will receive a housing permit from the municipality.
    You must register this housing permit with Woonkwartier yourself by sending an email to info@woonkwartier.nl and including the subject line “Moerdijk Housing Permit.” You must do this within 8 weeks; otherwise, the housing permit will no longer be valid.
  • If Woonkwartier has received the housing permit on time, Woonkwartier will make a note in the Klik voor Wonen system indicating that you are eligible for priority consideration for designated social housing units in the municipality of Moerdijk.
  • You must respond to the available listings yourself. The advertisement lists the eligibility requirements for that property.
  • Please note: When a home is assigned to you, the housing authority will verify whether you are eligible for the home. It is therefore important that you keep your registration in Klik voor Wonen up to date.

What do I need to apply?

  • An extract from the Basic Registration of Persons showing your nationality, any residence permit you may have, and where you have lived over the past ten years. You can request this extract from the municipality of Moerdijk: Extract from the Basic Register of Persons (BRP). Please note: When submitting your request, please indicate the following in the comments field
    • The extract must indicate your nationality and, if applicable, your residence status, and
    • The extract must show where you have lived over the past ten years.
  • Please note: When applying for a housing permit, the extract from the Basic Register of Persons must not be more than 1 month old.
  • A statement of income. You can request this from the tax authority. You can find out how to request it on the tax authority’s website.

Terms and Conditions

  • You have lived in the municipality of Moerdijk for the past six years, or you have lived in the municipality of Moerdijk for six consecutive years within the past ten years
  • You are registered with Klik voor Wonen.
  • At the time the housing unit is allocated, you are part of the housing associations’ target group and you meet the eligibility requirements for the housing unit in question.

Costs

Applying for a housing permit is free. However, you will be charged a fee for requesting an extract from the Basic Register of Persons. There is also an annual fee for registering with Klik voor Wonen.
