Serving Alcohol, Exemption

Would you like to serve low-alcohol beverages at an event or other activity, such as a reception? If so, you will need an exemption under the Alcohol Act.

Apply for an exemption at least 8 weeks in advance.

Terms and Conditions

• Alcohol may not be served to minors under the age of 18.
• No alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of 15% or higher may be served, with the exception of wine.
• The person in charge of serving alcohol must be at least 21 years old and of good character.
• The exemption may be granted for up to 12 consecutive days.
