Cooperation Between the Municipality and Regional Working Groups

The regional roundtables help the municipality make better decisions. They ensure that:

• Residents have a better understanding of what the municipality does.
• The municipality is aware of what's going on in the villages and neighborhoods.
• Residents and the municipality work well together.
• Taking an honest look at plans: What are the pros and cons?
• There is greater confidence in the municipality's decisions.

How do the regional committees collaborate with the municipality?

The municipality and the regional task forces are working together step by step:

1. The municipality is making an initial proposal.
2. The regional working groups supplement this with their ideas.
3. Together, they discuss the pros and cons.
4. A decision will be made.
5. The decision is implemented and monitored.

If they cannot reach an agreement, the proposal will go to the city council.

• Various options are being carefully considered.
• The partnership is clear and fair.
• This allows the municipality to operate more effectively and with greater support from residents.

Agreements between the municipality and regional task forces

The municipality of Moerdijk and the local roundtables (city and village roundtables) have reached agreements on how to work together effectively. These agreements were reached following discussions with the chairs of the roundtables.

Why these agreements?

• To work together more effectively on plans for the city or town.
• To clarify who does what.
• To better involve residents in municipal decisions.
• To learn and improve together.

• The municipality has the final say. But the opinions of residents and local advisory committees are taken into account.
• Everyone has their own role. The board of the regional roundtable helps organize discussions. The participants share their opinions.
• The municipality actively keeps residents informed—for example, about plans and progress.
• There is a step-by-step plan for participation. This helps in choosing the right way to involve residents.
