Klundert Town Center Vision

Through the “Vital Centers” program, the municipality is investing in revitalizing the center of Klundert, transforming it into an inviting meeting place with an attractive mix of retail, hospitality, cultural and recreational offerings, and events. “The first step is the assessment phase, followed by development scenarios and a participatory process involving residents, organizations, and business owners, among others. This will lead to a preferred scenario and subsequently an implementation plan,” according to the two firms.

Focus Group

A sounding board group has been formed consisting of 10–15 key figures from among Klundert’s residents, business owners, community partners, the hospitality industry, and the events sector, among others. These are people who want to actively contribute ideas about the plans both within and outside the city. Together with the sounding board group, preparations are also underway for the broad public participation evenings, which will take place in late 2023 and early 2024.

Giving Klundert a Boost

The plan is for the city council to adopt the preferred scenario by mid-2024. “When drafting a spatial and economic vision—and the resulting development scenarios—it’s important to consult with residents, business owners, and community organizations. Together, we’re going to give a boost to a vibrant downtown in Klundert! Because it’s necessary—we all agree on that,” explains Councilman Danny Dingemans.
