Disabled Parking Space
You have a disability and have difficulty parking your car near your home. If you have a disability parking permit for a driver or a driver and passenger (valid for at least 6 months), you can also apply for a disability parking space.
Requests
To apply for a disabled parking space, please send a letter. In your letter, please provide the following information:
- Personal information: name, address, city, phone number;
- Copy of the European disability parking permit;
- Copy of the vehicle registration certificate;
- A drawing, photo, or description of the desired location.

How long does it take?
Once the municipality receives your application, it will take up to 6 weeks to process it. After the municipality approves your application, a traffic order will be issued. As required by law, this order will then be available for public review for 6 weeks. If no objections are ultimately filed, your accessible parking space will be designated as soon as possible.
Terms and Conditions
- You must have a driver's or driver + passenger's disabled parking permit. This parking permit must also be valid for at least 6 months.
- There is no parking available on the premises
- Parking pressure in the area around your home is such that it is often not possible to park regularly in the immediate vicinity of your home. The municipality will determine whether this applies to your situation.
- The construction of the parking lot must not compromise traffic safety or the efficient use of the road.
Within the paid parking zone, the parking fee—or the resident parking permit—does not apply to people with disabilities.
Yes, you can, provided you meet two conditions. First, you must have a disability parking permit of the “driver” or “driver+passenger” type, and this permit must be valid for more than 6 months. Second, you must not have a parking space on your own property.

Your application will be reviewed based on a number of other factors, and you will be kept informed of its progress. Therefore, when submitting your application, please be sure to provide as much contact information as possible so that we can easily reach you.
Any changes affecting your parking space must be reported to the municipality of Moerdijk. If you continue to live within the municipality of Moerdijk, we can relocate your parking space.
If you move to another municipality, your parking space will be revoked, and you will need to apply for a new parking space with your new municipality.
Please note: You must apply for a disabled parking space at your new address yourself. A traffic order must also be issued for this. On average, it takes at least 8 weeks for such an order to be issued.

We can replace the sign on your parking space at no charge.
If a disabled parking space is no longer in use—for example, because the applicant is no longer able to drive or no longer owns a car—this must be reported to the municipality. If the applicant is unable to cancel the parking space themselves, a family member or caregiver must do so on their behalf.
