Placing a container, scaffolding, or items on the street

Would you like to temporarily place a dumpster, scaffolding, or other items on the street, sidewalk, or municipal property? For example, due to a renovation? If so, it’s important to know what is and isn’t allowed.

In many cases, you do not need to report this in advance, but you must follow the municipality's rules.

When do you not need to apply for anything?

If you comply with all the rules governing the use of municipal land, you may use the public space temporarily without having to notify the authorities or submit an application.

Among other things, the rules cover:

• safety,
• sufficient passage for pedestrians, traffic, and emergency services,
• preventing disturbances.

Are you unable to comply with the rules?

Are you unable to comply with (all) the rules? If so, you must apply for an exemption from the municipality of Moerdijk in advance.

Without a waiver, it is not permitted to place a container, scaffolding, or other items on the street or sidewalk if they do not comply with the rules.

Are you planning to renovate?

Are you planning to renovate or build your home? You can checkthe Omgevingsloket website to see if you need a permit for the renovation.

Please note: A permit for a renovation does not automatically mean that you are allowed to use municipal land.

For example, during the renovation, would you like to:

• place a container,
• set up scaffolding,
• Storing building materials on the street or sidewalk?

In that case, you must comply with the rules governing the use of municipal land. If you are unable to do so, you will need a separate exemption. You can apply for it below.
