Environmental Complaints (24 hours a day)
If you have complaints about environmental nuisances, particularly those caused by businesses, you can report them to the Environmental Complaints Center of the Midden- en West Brabant Environmental Agency.
The Environmental Complaints Center does handle
- nuisances caused by businesses or industrial parks (such as odor, noise, dust, light, or vibration pollution, as well as soil or air pollution)
- environmental damage caused during an incident

The Environmental Complaints Center does not handle
The municipality is responsible for
- dog feces, litter, and pests
- Residential waste collection and landscaping
- nuisance caused by a (private) fireplace, multi-fuel stove, wood-burning stove, or fire pit
- closing times for restaurants and bars
- parking problems
- Nuisance caused by construction and demolition work
- an illegal business operating out of a residential home (usually relates to the zoning plan)
- Nuisance caused by private individuals/neighbors (not a business)
The police are in charge of
- public order and nuisance caused by loitering youths
- Nuisance caused by private individuals setting off fireworks
- First point of contact for illegal drug dumping and chemical (drug) waste in jerry cans or drums
Other reports
- Nuisances in rural areas (e.g., poaching, off-road racing, illegal logging, or illegal dumping): Call Samen Sterk in Brabant (SSiB) at 0900-9965432 or visitthe SSiB Brabant website.
- Airplane noise: Call the airport where those planes take off or land. Call the Department of Defense regarding noise from military aircraft: 0800-022 60 33.
- (Severe) nuisance caused by manure spreading or improper use of pesticides: call the NVWA at 0900-0388.
- Traffic noise or exhaust fumes: Call the road authority. This could be the municipality, the province, or Rijkswaterstaat. You can find this information on the road authority map at rijkswaterstaat.nl.
- Surface water pollution: Call the Water Board or, for larger bodies of water, Rijkswaterstaat (meldpuntwater.nl).
- If you have any information about criminal (environment-related) activity (such as drug labs or illegal dumping), please call 0900-8844. Would you like to remain anonymous? Report it through Report Crime Anonymously: 0800-7000.
