Where could this lead?
Electrical appliances can be dropped off at the recycling center. You can also have electrical appliances picked up for free by Stichting De Kringloper. These appliances may be broken, as long as they are clean and dry when dropped off. Contact De Kringloper (0165-521188) to schedule a pickup.
Many stores and supermarkets have drop-off bins for small electrical appliances (as well as for batteries and energy-saving/LED light bulbs).
Use the Afvalservice app or the Wecycle website to find out where you can drop off your old, small electronics.
What happens to it?
If they can’t be given a second life at a thrift store, electrical appliances are dismantled. At least 75% of electrical appliances can be reused as raw materials—such as iron, copper, aluminum, glass, plastic, palladium, silver, and… gold! In fact, 200 cell phones contain enough gold for a single wedding ring.
