Asylum Reception Safety
On this page, we answer the most frequently asked questions regarding asylum reception.
The COA is responsible for security at all of its locations. The organization carries out this responsibility in collaboration with a security firm. Security guards are on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When necessary, the COA coordinates with the police. The mayor is responsible for public order and safety in the municipality. Asylum seekers receive guidance and information on topics such as safety as well as social norms in the Netherlands. COA staff provide this guidance.
To ensure good communication with residents living near the asylum seekers’ center and the rest of Zevenbergen, the COA regularly organizes a Neighborhood Consultation Meeting. During these meetings, topics discussed include how things are going, what the community has noticed, and what issues require more (or less) attention.
